摘要:
Probing the fundamental properties of neutrinos not only helps us understand the fundamental laws of nature but also gives us insight into the evolution of the universe. In this talk, the efforts to measure two of the unknown properties of neutrinos will be discussed: their mass ordering, and whether they are their own antiparticles. The former is the target of Jiangmen Underground Neutrino Observatory, a reactor neutrino experiment currently being constructed in southern China, and the latter can be probed by PandaX, a dark matter experiment using a liquid xenon detector at China Jinping Underground Laboratory. As both experiments require low radioactive background, the exploration of a novel technique of using single-molecule fluorescence imaging for radioactive isotope measurement will also be presented.
个人简介:
Junting Huang received his PhD from the University of Texas at Austin in 2015. He did his postdoc at the University of Texas at Austin and the University of Zurich, before joining Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU) in 2021. His research focuses on studying the fundamental properties of neutrinos. He participated in long-baseline neutrino oscillation experiments at Fermilab, MINOS, and MINOS+ NOvA, as well as neutrinoless double-beta decay experiments, GERDA and LEGEND. At SJTU, he mainly works on JUNO and PandaX experiments, along with some detector R&Ds.
